2027 MID-LEVEL GIVING SUMMIT

Leaning into Loyalty: Centering Donor Relationships in an On-Demand World

The 2027 Mid-Level Giving Summit invites Mid-Level Giving professionals whose programs have over one year data and who are members of the DMFA to examine the full donor journey—from first gift to long term partnership—through the lens of loyalty. This year’s programming will highlight how compelling storytelling deepens emotional resonance, how elevated stewardship signals “you matter,” and how donor-centered relationship building creates a sense of identity and belonging.

Through small group breakout sessions and interactive activities participants will engage with mid-level experts from across the industry to discuss practical strategies that honor donor interests, reinforce trust, and build meaningful connection.

Each participating organization will fill out a survey about their program. Surveys are due on x/xx/xx after which time registration closes.

What To Expect

The Summit features two full days of activities, workshops, in-depth discussions, and information sharing. Participants with established Mid-Level Giving programs engage in real-world problem solving and walk away with meaningful, actionable insights that could can be put into practice immediately.

With the goal of fostering meaningful connections, sharing more insights that will help you grow your mid-level giving program, and creating opportunities to connect with the community of mid-level experts across the industry, the MLG Benchmarking Committee has expanded the scope of offerings for 2027, including:

Peer Networking Group

Connect with your peers before the Summit to share insights, ask questions, and seek advice about your mid-level giving program. You can opt into a peer networking group during registration.

Doubled Down Creative Round Up

Summit attendees suggested even more emphasis on the creative session, so we are adding a package bazaar for you to share physical samples with your peers.

Service Project

Piloted in 2026, our community service project delivered more than 100 care packages to people in need. We are making this a permanent part of the Summit this year.

Benchmark Enhancements

We are enhancing our benchmarking based on your feedback to include a data dashboard against your cohort group. We are also working on other ways to pull actionable insights from the data.

Mid-Level Program 1+ Year

All Mid-Level Giving nonprofit professionals with programs over a year old are eligible to register for the 2027 Mid-Level Giving Summit. In order to register, you need to be a DMFA member. If you are not a member, join today! Once a member, contact info@dmfa.org to get access to log in, and register for the event. After registration, one person from each organization needs to fill out the data survey by xx date. Registration closes on xx.

Mid-Level Program – 1 Year

Mid-Level Giving 101 is a brand-new, one-day, hands-on workshop that makes getting started — and growing your program — doable. You’ll learn the tips and tricks that help you tap into this valuable segment of your donor file. Everyone with a program less than a year old or who is looking to start a new Mid-Level Giving program, is welcome to attend. A limited number of agency partners can join in on a first-come -first-serve basis.
