Celebrating emerging leaders in the direct marketing fundraising field

The DMFA Spark Award recognizes emerging leaders in the direct marketing fundraising field. Designed for those with less than five years of experience, it honors individuals who have made significant contributions through innovative projects or volunteer work. Whether new to the industry or transitioning from another field, these rising stars are shaping the future of nonprofit fundraising. The DMFA is committed to recognizing professionals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring this award is inclusive of various identity markers.

Nominations for the DMFA Spark Award are due by November 1, 2024  and can be submitted by current DMFA members who wish to highlight talented individuals that may not yet be members themselves. We are looking for those who have shown remarkable initiative in piloting new ideas, volunteering their time, or making notable advancements within their organizations or the industry at large.

The DMFA Spark Award is unique in that it is applicable not only to those whose careers are just beginning in the field of direct marketing fundraising, but also to individuals with a long career in another industry who have recently transitioned into this field. The DMFA is committed to celebrating professionals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring this award is inclusive of professionals from various identity markers and life experiences.

This award is more than just a recognition—it is an opportunity to support and encourage the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of fundraising. By celebrating their achievements and potential, we aim to inspire continued growth and innovation across the sector.

The winner is presented with a special plaque, acknowledged in the DMFA newsletter, given one year DMFA Membership, and is spotlighted on the DMFA website throughout the year.
